Thank You for Your Support

As we approach the holidays and the new year, the La Crosse Police Department would like to take a moment to reflect on the overwhelming support of our Community Policing programs, especially the relatively new Neighborhood Resource Officer program.

In 2014, with a first-ever, public-private collaboration, we were able to add four (4) sworn officer positions to our roster.  These four officers were assigned as Neighborhood Resource Officers, working in pairs to provide specialized community policing support to two specific geographic areas of our city – Washburn Neighborhood and Lower Northside Depot Neighborhood.

Throughout 2014 and 2015, the Officers assigned as NROs truly connected with the organizations, businesses, and the residents of the neighborhoods they serve.  Due to their efforts, this program flourished and has grown into a great asset to our City as a whole.   We would like to thank the following organizations and individuals for their contributions to the Community Policing Program and Neighborhood Resource Officer teams:

With this support and the success of the Neighborhood Resource Officer program, we now look forward to 2016 with the expansion of the this program!  Stay tuned to next week when we introduce the two officers that will be assigned to the Downtown area.
