As a result of an ongoing drug investigation, the La Crosse Emergency Response Team executed a narcotics search warrant at 727 7th Street South in the city of La Crosse, on Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at approximately 5:00PM. This residence is located in the Washburn Neighborhood and newly named Neighborhood Resource Officer (NRO) Daniel Ulrich was part of the investigation, along with the La Crosse Police Department Drug Investigation Unit, West Central Metropolitan Enforcement Group (WCMEG), patrol officers, and the LCPD Emergency Response Team (ERT). A minor child (5 years old) was present during the execution of the warrant and was taken into protective custody by Child Protective Services. The following items were seized during the search warrant:
- 6.2 grams of heroin
- Approximately 72 grams of K2 synthetics drugs
- $5,914 in cash
Five suspects were arrested and are expected to be charged later today in La Crosse County Circuit Court.
