Assistant Chief Named Chair of G.R.E.A.T. Board

Assistant Chief Robert AbrahamAssistant Chief Rob Abraham, representing La Crosse Police Chief Ron Tischer, was appointed as the Chair of the GREAT National Policy Board in Washington DC.  The policy board, made up of federal and local law enforcement partners including the ATF, Phoenix, Nashville Metro, and Portland Police Departments, oversees the implementation of the G.R.E.A.T. program in the US and Central America.

G.R.E.A.T. stands for Gang Resistance Education And Training.  The La Crosse Police Department is the G.R.E.A.T. Midwest Atlantic Region training center for the G.R.E.A.T. program for a 16 State jurisdiction. These states include: Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, Vermont, Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, and New Jersey.
