Recently, La Crosse Police Officer Trenton Bowe and K-9 Zaback attended the United States Police Canine Association (USPCA) annual certification testing. K-9 Zaback scored 197 out of 200 possible points in the Drug Detector Trials, putting him in the top 3 out of all the police canines testing! The Drug Detector Trials measure for speed, accuracy, and obedience.
Zaback, a German Shepard from Germany, came to the Department in 2013 after a generous donation from the Valley View Rotary Club. He is 3 years old and takes most of his commands in German! Officer Bowe and K-9 Zaback, the department’s 4th police K-9 team, are now certified in narcotics detection, subject apprehension, and handler protection and work our 2nd shift patrol.
Congratulations on a job well done!
