In early December, I had the privilege of accepting a generous donation from a caring and compassionate citizen of La Crosse. This citizen’s family came together to donate several Festival Foods and Toys “R” Us gift cards. Citing the Department’s Neighborhood Resource Officers’ positive interactions with area youth and their families, the donor requested that the NROs use the cards to spread some holiday cheer.
The Neighborhood Resource Officers worked with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater La Crosse to identify kids that had distinguished themselves by making positive impacts at the club and in the community.
So, starting this past Monday, the NROs donned their festive hats and made their way into our neighborhoods. I could try to describe the excitement and happiness that this has brought these kids and their families (and our Officers), but I’ll let the following pictures share their stories…
