NROs, K-9 Team Arrest Suspected Meth Dealer

Kong Vang

Kong Vang (DOB 9/9/1989)

Yesterday, at 1:16PM, La Crosse Police Neighborhood Resource Officers (NROs) Tyler Pond and Dale Gerbig stopped a motor vehicle driven by Kong Vang near 11th and Badger Streets.  The traffic stop was based on their knowledge that Vang (DOB 9/9/1989) had an active warrant and did not possess a valid driver license.

The NROs requested the on-duty K-9 team of Officer Tony LeQue and K-9 Ralph.  During the K-9 deployment, Ralph alerted on Vang’s vehicle.  The subsequent search resulted in over $5,800 cash and 97.4 grams of methamphetamine being seized.  The estimated street value of the seized drugs is between $9,500-$10,000.

Kong Vang of 816 5th Avenue South, La Crosse, was charged with Possession with Intent to Deliver Methamphetamine, Operating While Revoked, Probation Violation, and a warrant.  Vang will make his initial court appearance at 1:30PM today.

I understand that he got caught with illegal drugs but exploiting his address to the world is wrong. There needs to respect for the innocent residents such as his family who live there if there are any. Give his name to the public, but not his residency.

His address is public record. He should have thought of his family before subjecting them to meth.
