Because of expected frigid temperatures tonight, the La Crosse Police Department will be opening up the Northside Community Policing Center at 713 Saint James Street as a temporary warming shelter. The hours of operation for tonight will be 7pm-8am and will be staffed by police personnel.

This should be every night in the winter. Nobody should ever be left in the cold. Salvation army and churches should never turn anyone away. Time for LA Crosse to accomodate more people. Minneapolis gas lots if shelters and some u can even Pat a fee for to guarantee a bed. Time our tax dollars go to use for others options in housing, etc.
