Police Emergency Warming Shelter to stay open for 2 more nights.

Because of demand and continued frigid temperatures expected for the next 2 nights, the La Crosse Police Department will be opening up the Northside Community Policing Center at 713 Saint James Street as a temporary emergency warming shelter for both Thursday and Friday night. The hours of operation will be 7pm-8am on both Thursday night (2/11) and Friday night (2/12) and will be staffed by police personnel.

The La Crosse Police Department served 4 people on the first night of operation for the emergency warming shelter. We are asking for donations of 10-12 new or gently used blankets, if anyone would have some to donate. If you would like to donate a warm blanket, you can drop off at the La Crosse Police Department (400 La Crosse Street) during Lobby Hours of 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
