On March 6th at 11:17 pm La Crosse Police were dispatched to 1320 5th Ave So. for a report of a female stabbed. Upon arrival, Jessica L. Joyner (DOB 06-28-1986) was located on the floor in 1318 5th Ave So suffering from stab wounds. First responders arrived and transported Jessica to Gundersen Lutheran Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased at 12:41 am on March 7th.
Responding officers were able to determine the incident started as part of an argument between Jessica and her husband Haron J. Joyner (DOB 09/15/1980). The argument escalated into a violent confrontation which resulted in the injuries to Jessica Joyner. Haron Joyner had fled the scene prior to the officers’ arrival.
During the course of the investigation, officers were able to locate Haron Joyner in a vehicle in the area of 3600 So 29th Ct. Heron Joyner was taken into custody without incident at 2:07 am on March 7th. Heron Joyner is being held at the La Crosse County Jail on charges of 1st Degree Intentional Homicide.
