On June 21st at 6:43 p.m. La Crosse Police Investigators with the La Crosse Police Emergency Response Team executed search warrants at 1128 and 1130 4th St. South in La Crosse.
On the prior day, June 20th, Police located Facebook videos showing an individual they recognized as Albert B. Williams III with what appeared to be drugs, large sums of money and a hand gun. Additionally, confidential informants provided accounts that Williams was dealing drugs in the area of 4th and Jackson Streets. Through additional internet investigation, Investigators located a video from a real estate website with video of the inside of 1128 4th St. South which matched the Facebook video. The comparison of the two videos enabled the investigators to pin down the search warrant location.
Upon executing the search warrants, police took Williams into custody inside of 1128 4th St. South as he emerged from the bathroom. Williams was the lone occupant in that address, and it was determined to be his residence. A subsequent search of the residence discovered a large quantity of pistol ammunition and a stolen hand gun underneath the bathroom sink. Williams was ultimately charged with: Possession of Firearm as a Felon, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Stolen Property, Possession of Narcotic Drugs and Felony Bail Jumping.
Mr. Williams is no stranger to the La Crosse Police. Albert Williams had been the focus of a drug investigation in February. During that investigation he had sold heroin from his apartment to a confidential informant. A search warrant in that case netted heroin and four handguns. Williams was out on felony bond in reference to that case when he was arrested for this incident.
