Search Warrant Nets Dangerous Drug

As part of an ongoing drug investigation, La Crosse Police Investigators executed a search warrant last night (03/14/2018) at 2807 South Ave. Investigators had developed information that Fentanyl and heroin were being sold out of this location, as well as other drugs.  The warrant resulted in the seizure of 24 grams of heroin cut with fentanyl, 15.8 grams of crack cocaine, 15 grams of an unknown substance, a small amount of marijuana and $3700.00 cash.

Christopher R. Malone DOB 05/03/1977 of La Crosse and Denzel L. Meadows DOB 10/13/1995 of Chicago were taken into custody without incident at the time the search warrant was executed. See the attached images for their charges.

While the La Crosse area has been dealing with the opioid epidemic for several years and has occasionally dealt with Fentanyl, this search warrant hallmarks the fact that Fentanyl is becoming more prevalent locally.  Fentanyl and Fentanyl analogs are highly potent and extremely dangerous.  The fact that they are becoming more common locally is alarming and dangerous for police and first responders.
