On 02/07/2019 at 1:41PM we responded to the area of 1600 Johnson Street to assist first responders. A homeowner called 911 reporting they located a snow covered body in the back yard of their residence. Upon arrival it was determined the individual was deceased, and through the investigation, the subject was identified as Juan Gonzalez Mejia (DOB 04-10-1994).
Juan was last seen leaving his place of employment on 01/24/2019 and was reported missing to the La Crosse Police Department on 01/28/2019.
At this point there are no obvious signs of foul play, and the medical examiner’s office has taken custody of the body. This remains an ongoing investigation with an autopsy scheduled for next week to assist in determining the manner of death.
