Search Warrant leads to the arrest of two for drug and weapon charges

Last night, June 3, 2019, members of the La Crosse Police Department’s Investigative Bureau, along with the Emergency Response Team and Neighborhood Resource Officers, conducted a search warrant at 1116 4th Street South #2. As a result of this search warrant, Lavon D. Liggins (DOB 05/03/1981) was arrested for multiple drug offenses, as well as being a felon in possession of a firearm. Also arrested for multiple drugs offenses was Brittany M Basley (DOB 09/17/1990).

As part of the search, Officers located 4.2 grams of heroin, ecstasy pills and $7000.00 worth of cash. Also located was a .22 Caliber handgun. Both Liggins and Basley are well known to the Criminal Justice system, and their behavior indicates they have no regard for the La Crosse community as they attempt to further their for-profit drug business.

As a result of this investigation Lavon Liggins was charged with the following:

  • Felon in possession of a firearm
  • Maintaining a drug trafficking place
  • Possession of heroin with intent to deliver
  • Delivery of heroin
  • Possession of ecstasy
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Outstanding Warrant

Brittany Basely was charged with the following:

  • Maintaining a drug trafficking place
  • Possession of heroin with intent to deliver
  • Delivery of heroin
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia

Both Liggins and Basley are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
