Shalim AugustineThe autopsy of Shalim Augustine was conducted at the Dane County Medical Examiners Office on Saturday morning. Their examination lead to the La Crosse County Medical Examiner’s Office to rule the preliminary Cause of Death as Drowning, with the Manner of Death classified as an Accident. There were no signs of trauma or injuries and no evidence of foul play.

Toxicology results will not be available for several weeks, these are preliminary autopsy findings.

The investigation into Shalim Augustine’s death continues, as we are trying to piece together the activities of the day, night and early morning hours, and look at phone records and video cameras in the area. As of today, the investigation has discovered nothing which would indicate foul play was involved, but the La Crosse Police Department continues to investigate and is asking for the public’s help. If you or someone you know has information that could be helpful in this investigation, please contact the La Crosse Police Department at (608) 785-5962.
