Police Lobby Construction: Hours and Availability

Lobby ConstructionThe La Crosse Police Department lobby will be undergoing  a security and access renovation starting on Monday, July 21, 2014, potentially lasting through Friday, September 12, 2014.

This project is a culmination of changes that have been needed for many years to include a more secure environment for staff and citizens, better access for person with disabilities, better access/communications for citizens and staff, a conference room right off the lobby to meet with person privately without full access to the Police Department, security cameras and providing enhanced security for our records.

As always, the police department is ready and available to assist you 24 hours each day, 365 days through the year.

However, due to construction and safety concerns, physical access to the department through the lobby area will be limited.  During this time, please note the following:

  • In an emergency, DIAL 9-1-1
  • In a non-emergency situation requiring the presence of an officer, dial the non-emergency dispatch number at (608) 785-5962
  • Records Division personnel will be available via phone at (608) 789-7227, or by visiting the 5th Floor Conference Room between 10:00AM and 2:00PM, Monday-Friday to help with requests for copies of records, reports, or background checks; applications for various licenses or permits; or for general questions
  • To schedule fingerprints, contact Professional Standards / Community Services at (608) 789-7240 – they will provide special instructions for your appointment
  • The Drug Drop Box will be unavailable during this time, please check with other La Crosse County law enforcement agencies for availability of their Drug Drop Boxes

Once construction has completed, we look forward to offering you even greater and more efficient customer service.  We appreciate your patience during this busy time.
