Chief Ron Tischer and members of the La Crosse Police Department are proud to announce that Officer Teri Roden has received the La Crosse County Domestic Abuse/Sexual Assault Task Force, “Law Enforcement Officer of the Year” award.  Officer Roden was presented with her award at the Task Force’s annual banquet last evening.

As indicated in the award letter, “through training and experience, Officer Roden has gained extraordinary knowledge on the dynamics of domestic violence and sexual assault and has built a reputation as a caring, compassionate, victim-centered, and detail-oriented police officer who gets the job done and will go the extra mile to keep victims safe.”

Officer Roden is a 17-year sworn veteran of the La Crosse Police Department, who initially served as a volunteer Police Reserve and Civilian Service Employee before being sworn as an Officer.  She has also been a member of the Domestic Abuse Reduction Team (D.A.R.T.) since 2003 and has been a negotiator on the Emergency Response Team (E.R.T.) for several years.
