On Friday, March 13th at 8:01am, The La Crosse Police and Fire Departments and the La Crosse Dive Unit responded to the report of a body floating in the Mississippi River in front of the River Side Center in downtown La Crosse.
The La Crosse Fire Department recovered the body from the Mississippi River.
Investigators were able to identify the deceased as 27 year old, Joshua Xiong from Onalaska, WI.
Joshua Xiong went missing on November 9th, 2014 while fishing alone in his boat at Lock and Dam 7 near Dresbach, MN.
An Autopsy is scheduled for Saturday morning.
At this time this is an ongoing investigation by the La Crosse Police Department, Winona County Sheriff’s Department and the La Crosse County Medical Examiner office.
