2015 Bike Barn Open Hours

The Police Impound Building, also known as the “Bike Barn”, is open to the public the first Wednesday of each month from 4:30-6:00PM starting in April. During open hours, citizens are able to come to look for their lost or stolen bike.

  • September 2nd
  • October 7th

To claim a bicycle, you must have a copy of your previously submitted police report. In many cases, you can fill out this report online following these guidelines:

  • If your bike is stolen and is valued under $2,500.00, you can fill out an Online Complaint Form.
  • If your bike is stolen and is valued over $2,500.00, call our non-emergency dispatch number at (608) 785-5962 or come to the Police Department located in City Hall – 1st Floor, 400 La Crosse Street, La Crosse, WI 54601.

Also, if you are riding your bicycle within the City of La Crosse, it is City ordinance that your bicycle be registered and licensed. You can register your bicycle at the Police Department and will need the make, model, and serial number of the bicycle. There is NO registration fee! Click for a copy of the registration form.  For questions regarding bike registration and licensing, call (608) 789-7227.  For general questions, call (608) 789-7245.
