On Sunday September 6th at approximately 1:56pm, the La Crosse Police Department responded to the 1600 block of Avon Street in regards to reports of gunshots and persons and vehicles leaving from 1626 Avon Street. This location was secured and a search was conducted at 1626 Avon Street. Neither the suspect(s) nor victim(s) were located at this location.
Through our investigation we learned approximately 8-9 shots had been fired at an occupied vehicle at this location. Police recovered empty shell casings at the scene. Investigators later made contact with an adult male who was in the vehicle that was shot at. No one was reported injured in this shooting and the victim’s vehicle was recovered on the south side of La Crosse. The vehicle was found to have several bullet holes in it. This vehicle is being held by the La Crosse PD as evidence.
This is an ongoing investigation and Investigators continue to interview witnesses and are following up with leads in regards to this shooting.
