La Crosse Police Department Officers have recently been provided another great way to connect with the children in our area. Like last year, Officers will have full sets of Green Bay Packers trading cards available for children they meet in the community.
These 20-card sets, available only through the Police Department, feature a picture of a Green Bay Packer player on the front and an important safety tip on the back. All safety tips are written by elementary students from across the state of Wisconsin.
We hope that you – our blog, Facebook, and Twitter followers – let your kids know that when they see a Police Officer, it’s okay to just say hi. As Chief Tischer explains, “sometimes kids think Police are scary or the enemy. We want them to know that we’re here for them. We’re here to help. Hopefully the cards will be an incentive for them to approach an officer. They may leave with a new friend and a set of Packer cards!”
This year’s set includes: General Manager Ted Thompson, Head Coach Mike McCarthy, Aaron Rodgers, Jordy Nelson, Randall Cobb, Bryan Bulaga, T.J. Lang, Josh Sitton, David Bakhtiari, Eddie Lacy, B.J. Raji, Mike Daniels, Clay Matthews, Ha Ha Clinton-Dix, Micah Hyde, Morgan Burnett, Sam Shields, Julius Peppers, Mason Crosby, and Tim Masthay.
