Body Identified in Death Investigation on North Side of La Crosse

Identity: Shannon A. Richardson  Female/White DOB 05/01/1988     1552 Charles Street La Crosse WI.

In the early morning hours of Tuesday February 9^th at 3:12 a.m. the La Crosse Police Department received a possible missing/welfare check on Shannon Richardson. Shannon had not been heard from or seen for over 24 hours with the last contact being in the early morning hours of Monday February 8^th by friends.

La Crosse Police immediately started to look for Shannon by searching phone records and the use of a thermal imaging camera in the area of her last possible location. Officers continued to canvas the area while Investigators followed up with witness interviews. Shannon was last seen leaving a north side tavern on foot at around bar time on Monday morning February 8^th.

Shannon’s body was discovered by a citizen in the area outside of 1600 Caledonia Street at 12:59 p.m. At this time an autopsy is being scheduled and the investigation is ongoing by the La Crosse Police Department and the La Crosse County Medical Examiner’s Office. No further information is available at this time pending the ongoing investigation.
