On May 10th, La Crosse Police were dispatched to 1116 South 14th Street for a report of a domestic disturbance. Officers made contact at this residence and the female occupant indicated there was no argument. The occupant said her son and his friends were recording music, after which Officers were invited inside to further investigate and confirm this. The Officers did speak with son and friends who showed the Officers where they were recording music. As the Officers did this, they observed obvious evidence of drug dealing in plain view.
Ultimately, the investigation led to the recovery of the drug dealing materials, 46.6 grams of marijuana, 0.5 grams of cocaine, and 3 hand guns. Of the three hand guns, one was loaded with a round in the chamber and two have been confirmed as stolen at this time. Additional investigation is being done at this time to determine if any of the guns have been involved in other crimes.
The investigation led to two of the male juveniles (15 and 16 year old) being charged with:
- Possession with the Intent to Deliver THC
- Possession of Cocaine
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
- Receiving Stolen Property
This case is another example of the nexus between guns and drugs. The good work by the responding Officers made La Crosse that much safer by getting three guns out of the hands of people who should not have them.
Thank you all for the way you are working to get this gun and drug nightmare under control.
