One of the largest methamphetamine seizures for the La Crosse Police Department occurred last night with the execution of a search warrant at Candlewood Suites in La Crosse.
La Crosse Police Investigators developed information that Sandy Xiong (12/19/1989) of Onalaska was selling large quantities of methamphetamine. Working with the Metropolitan Enforcement Group (MEG), the investigation revealed that she was selling the drugs both from her residence in Onalaska and a hotel room at the Candlewood Suites in La Crosse.
Based on the investigation, La Crosse Police obtained a search warrant for the hotel room at the Candlewood Suites. While executing the search warrant, Investigators located 681 grams (1.5 pounds) of methamphetamine, over $2700.00 cash, and other items consistent with drug dealing. Based on estimated street price of a gram of methamphetamine, the total street value of the drugs seized would be in excess of $60,000.00. Additionally, Investigators located a ledger book showing sales in excess of $20,000.00.
As we have seen with many of our drug related search warrants, the people dealing the drugs are doing so with children around. Last night was another example of this with a 4 month old child of one of the arrested individuals being in the hotel room where the search warrant was executed. La Crosse Police worked with Child Protective Services to have the infant removed and placed in a safe environment.
