On June 17th, 2018 the body of Erin Bushek (Somvilai) was recovered from Runge Hollow Lake, located in Vernon County. In the morning hours a fisherman called Law Enforcement upon the discovery. The La Crosse Police Department and Vernon County Sheriff’s Department arrived and proceeded with a homicide investigation.
The recovery of Erin and the investigation has been a joint effort with the La Crosse Police Department, Vernon County Sheriff’s Department, DCI, Wisconsin State Patrol, La Crosse Fire Department Dive and Rescue, both La Crosse and Vernon County Medical Examiners, and both the La Crosse and Vernon County District Attorney’s Offices.
