LCPD Arranges for Department-Wide Training

The La Crosse Police Department is pleased to announce a department-wide training which will occur this Friday morning, March 27th.  Vanessa Roberts, a Nationally known presenter and self-titled “artivist” (artist, activist, and academic), will be providing all LCPD members with the training titled, Decoding Difference – Moving From Intent to Impact.

Earlier this year, the La Crosse Police Department sought this training as part of a more comprehensive training program in the area of cultural competence, diversity, social justice, and bias.  We look forward to welcoming Ms. Roberts as she leads all of our members through a combination of interactive exercises, personal and group reflections, and other unique activities to increase awareness and recognition of multiple topics that fit under the broader category of diversity and inclusion.  This training will support our members and our efforts in community and problem-oriented policing.

Due to this training, the La Crosse Police Department public lobby will be closed from 8:30AM – 11:30AM this Friday, March 27th.  Anyone needing assistance during this closure should contact the non-emergency line at (608) 785-5962, or DIAL 9-1-1 in an emergency.  The lobby will re-open at 11:30AM and resume normal business hours.
