Chief Ron Tischer is pleased to announce a promotion from within the Police Department.
This morning, Lieutenant Troy Nedegaard was promoted to the rank of Captain of Police. Captain Nedegaard has been with the Department since 1991. He was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in 1997 and to the rank of Lieutenant in 2006. In 2011, he was assigned as the Director of Training, the position he most recently held.
Captain Nedegaard has served in various roles within the Field Services Bureau (much of his time spent on 3rd shift), Administrative Services Bureau, and the Professional Standards/Community Services Bureau. He has also been a member of the Department’s Civil Unrest Team, Honor Guard, and Emergency Response Team, including nine years as the ERT Officer In Charge. In 2014 and 2015, Captain Nedegaard oversaw the Citizens Police Academy, and will continue to do so for this year’s academy.
