LCPD & LCFD Investigate Suspicious Fires

Over the last 6 months the La Crosse Fire Department and La Crosse Police Department have been collaborating to investigate several suspicious fires.  Since October of 2016 there have been 10 fires that have been classified as suspicious and being investigated as possible arsons.  These fires have included several vehicles, a garage and several residences and have been occurring in the early morning hours.  The suspect does not appear to bring any items with him/her to the scenes, but lights whatever items are readily available and accessible.

It is recommended that people keep their residence, garages and storage areas locked as well as keeping their yard areas clean of storage and combustibles including keeping their trash in the proper containers outside.  We ask that the public be mindful of this information and report any suspicious activity.

Police are asking for anyone with information regarding these incident to please contact the La Crosse Police Department at 608-789-7240.  To remain anonymous, contact La Crosse Area Crime Stoppers at 608-784-TIPS or visit http://www.lacrossecrimestoppers.com to report it online.  You can also download the Crime Stoppers App “P3” to submit a tip via your phone.
